My Students
"If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn" -Ignacio Estrada.
I teach an ESOL and ESE inclusion kindergarten class in a high poverty school Title I School. It has been a great to be a part of this community and we would appreciate your support.
The students who come into kindergarten are just starting to learn what education is and how to be part of a community.
Teaching in an inclusion classroom has shown me how caring my students can be and how willing they are to accept each other.
It amazes me how every day my students are willing to help each other, and to learn and cheer for one another no matter the differences. I want to do whatever I can to engage my students and help them learn in whatever way is best for them.
My Project
I am asking for iPad minis so that my students can have a variety of educational apps, but also because teaching ESE students means I often have students with fine motor difficulties and having an iPad will give them another way to be successful in my classroom. They can use the iPads for all subjects, including writing.
Most of my students are also not exposed to very much technology at home and it can prove to be a disadvantage in their future to not have exposure to such crucial technology.
When this project is funded it will make such a difference in my classroom.
My students will be able to use these daily in small groups and more often depending on their needs. My students will get access to technology that they wouldn't otherwise be exposed to and they will be able to be engaged in new ways.
Thank you so much for your time!
