It's time for something different. Let's give the computer a try! The computer is the perfect way to change things up when it comes to learning math and phonics.
My students are some of the greatest kids ever.
They definitely face more challenges than your average six-year-olds. Our school is one of the neediest schools in the state. We have a high poverty rate, high English language learner population, and very low MCAS test scores. But we don't let that get us down. My kids are eager to learn and eager to succeed. They don't let their surroundings define them.
My Project
I am requesting a variety of math and phonics software on CDs, such as Early Geometry Plinko and Pick-A-Trick Rhyming Words, to use in the classroom on a daily basis. I'd like to use the software in our daily math time as an independent center activity. These games will help the students become proficient in addition, subtraction, geometry, and money. If my students practice every day, they will only get stronger in math and reading. My kids also need staplers to keep all of their work organized.
