My students need STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) materials. We need Lego Education kits, math manipulatives, The Magic School Bus Engineering Lab.
My first grade students have questions. What does it look like? Can we make that? They want to be scientist, engineers, and mathematicians. Their love of learning is infectious.
My first grade students are inquisitive, imaginative, and eager to learn.
They love asking questions and discovering answers. They are problem solvers. My students love to plan, design, and build projects. They enjoy sharing ideas and work cooperatively with each other. They Love Learning!
My Project
Being able to use these STEM materials in my first grade class will afford my students the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills necessary for a lifetime of learning. The LEGO educational materials, Magic School Bus STEM materials, and other STEM materials will give my students a way to plan, design, build, think, collaborate, and present their acquired learning in a hands on manner. The math manipulatives will allow my students opportunities to learn, practice, and apply their mathematical reasoning skills in a concrete way. My students knowledge of science, engineering, and math will definitely increase.

I cannot wait the see the look on their faces, and to hear the sounds of their excitement as we complete our first LEGO STEM challenge. This positive impact will carry on throughout the year as we continue to plan, create, and show our learning in a hands on way. I believe this impact will carry on even further as my students will have developed a greater love of learning!
