How many people can truly say they love coming to work every day? I am one of the fortunate few who can say "I do!" Every day I am challenged and in awe of my kindergarten students.
I have the privilege of teaching 24 kindergarten students at a year round school.
My students come from various socioeconomic and culturally diverse backgrounds, but all of my students possess a common trait. My students come to school eager to learn and already have developed a love for learning. I also work with a group of teachers that have a growth mind set. We are constantly sharing lesson ideas and data to make sure we are meeting all of students needs.
My Project
I am requesting several types of literacy (alphabet stamps, sight word and blending mats) and math manipulatives (magnetic pattern blocks and math games that can be used in a small group) that my students will use independently during literacy centers and math stations. These cool tools and games will reinforce skills we are learning, help those that need repetition, and will help keep all of my busy kindergartners engaged and challenged!
The literacy and math materials I am requesting will have a positive impact on my kindergartners because they will help directly reinforce the skills my kids are learning on a daily basis.
My students will be able to practice blending 3 and 4 letter words using hands-on materials, using alphabet stamps to spell sight words, using shape blocks to help increase their math vocabulary, and collaborating with their peers to play exciting math games.
