My students need an art easel to accommodate their creativity and some great, educational books to make learning fun including Rainbow Fish and Chrysanthemum!
Creativity is key in Kindergarten. No 5 year old wants to do worksheets all day, or sit at the same table and write their name 17 more times. In my classroom, I do my best to create different learning experiences to accommodate all types of learners.
My students are energetic, entertaining, and eager to learn.
They are in a great community, but working at a public school has it's limitations for funding. I am required to provide the majority of the materials in my classroom. My students love books and are extremely creative. We need more materials to help accommodate these traits and encourage a love for learning!
My Project
The art easel requested will help my students be more hands on with their learning. They will be able to paint, draw, color and create projects without limitation. We have a theme in our classroom each week and we are always making an art project to go with the theme. These often reinforce literacy and math concepts and create an opportunity for further learning. Without an art easel, these projects are harder to accomplish and they are sometime not created with care.
The books provided will be loved. My students love to read. They are very interested in books that teach them lessons and start discussions about other topics. The books I have requested do just that. They will be used as a teaching resource, and as another way for my students to be hands on with their own learning by allowing them access to books at any time during the school day.
Learning or reinforcing concepts in creative ways helps my students retain information.
Providing interesting, stimulating picture books also creates several opportunities for education. The materials I am asking for do just that.
Remember that everything you learned, you learned in Kindergarten. Help my students take charge of their education, learn more efficiently, and have more fun!!
