This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a Title I school which needs transportation to the Georgia Aquarium.
At our school, we mostly have underprivileged students who lack opportunities for real world experiences that would enhance their education.
We are currently working on a Project Based Learning activity that involves researching endangered aquatic animals.
My Project
Using this funding, our students will gain transportation to and from the Georgia Aquarium. While there, the students will extend their research on an endangered aquatic animal that makes its home in Georgia. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to interview experts in the field of conservation. Without the transportation for this field trip, our students will not be able to fully complete their projects.
By allowing these students an opportunity to extend their learning at the Georgia Aquarium, they will gain a deeper understanding of why it's important to protect habitats and animals in Georgia.
