Grow A Garden, Grow Our Brains!

My students need planters, seed, and soil to grow their own plants in order to fully understand the structure and function of plants.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Growing a garden to grow our brains! In my classroom, we all grow our brains everyday - which means we get smarter. Students are expected to learn about plant structures in 3rd grade. What better way to do this than by growing a garden firsthand?

My students are very curious and love learning.

They especially love hands-on activities where they can discover things about the world on their own. Growing a garden is an engaging and interactive activity that I know my students will enjoy and most importantly, learn from.

My Project

"Tell me and I'll forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I'll understand." This proverb illustrates how important these materials are in order for my students to learn about plants and their structure. By being involved in the process of growing a garden, my students will truly be able to understand how plants grow and survive.

Having a garden in our classroom will be a learning experience my students will remember for a lifetime.

They will be able to own their learning and find meaning in it through this experience. It will show them that learning is fun!
