Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Sometimes, it can be difficult to know if my students are following along and understanding what is being taught in my lessons. Using individual whiteboards can help me know what they are or are not getting.

My kids come from an under performing low socioeconomic school district.

They come from all ethnicity's and are varied in their ability levels. I also have a large percentages of second language students. Despite this fact, they're API scores are increasing every year. This is happening despite the fact that our budget is being slashed each and every year.

My Project

Students have shown success when using individual whiteboards. It gives them a safe way to participate in class discussions without feeling they will be singled out for being wrong. These boards will also help me to guide my instruction because it will show me when my kids are not getting something quickly, instead of waiting to see how they perform on an assessment.

These boards will help me be a better teacher.

They will allow all of my students the opportunity to participate in class and gain immediate feedback. The kids in my classroom deserve the very best and these boards will help them in their academic success.
