This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine how motivated my students will be when then can read their stories on an eReader! You can help my students discover that reading is fun when they read on the four donated Nooks.

My students are mostly English Learners who on average read one year below grade level.

They are enthusiastic and hardworking. They enjoy listening to stories read to them, but need to increase their own reading time. Our school does not have enough technology to accommodate all of my students. Having four Nooks to have them practice their reading during Independent Work Time would help them so much.

My Project

My students enjoy technology and would greatly benefit from having eReaders to motivate them to read for longer periods of time. They would be able to practice for Reading Theater during their independent work time. They could read in small groups without realizing they are actually working on practicing their reading fluency.

This project is very important for increasing reading time for my students.

Students this age are fascinated by technology and spend countless hours in front of a computer screen playing video games. I believe that with support of this project my students will be motivated to spend countless hours reading stories without realizing that they are working.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
