I would teach children music, physics and philosophy; but most importantly music, for the patterns in music, and all the arts, are the keys to learning. - Plato.
Our school's music program is in its infancy and our students come from diverse backgrounds. Music will be the thread that unites us.
My students attend a Title I school in Seattle, WA.
This is my first year as a full-time music teacher and our music program is just getting off the ground. My K-8 students are already so motivated for their Holiday Concert. I want to create a memorable performance for them and I need the fundamental tools in our modern world to make this possible. We have the voices and the passion - now we just need the technology!
My Project
We are planning two concerts this holiday season - one for our neighboring retirement community and one for our school community. Currently, I do not have the sound equipment necessary to make their voices heard. The speaker sound system I am requesting will make our hard work more polished and more exciting. And, it's a tool we can use for many years.
Our K-8 school feeds into one of Seattle's high schools known for its stellar music program.
Students there are nationally recognized musicians. I want to teach my K-8 students at a level that will set them up for success, not only in their future high school careers, but for life.
