My Students

Have you ever read a book that really inspired you to do something important in your life or inspired you to follow a specific career path? My students are at that stage in their lives and need some help to better understand how exciting and fulfilling it can be to be an entrepreneur.

My students come from all kinds of backgrounds but there is usually one common characteristic...they are not sure yet what they want to do when they grow up.

Many of my students know about entrepreneurship and may even know someone who is currently an entrepreneur but they may be blind everything else. My hope is that this book can open their eyes to the importance of entrepreneurship and how important it is to our country.

My Project

I have personally read the book Start Something that Matters and it has made me think about what I can do right now to start a small business that will benefit my community and help many individuals lives in the process. My goal is to have my entrepreneurship students read this book and use the website associated with the book to learn many important business and personal lessons that should carry on with them once they graduate high school. I would love for at least one of my students to finish my class and come back to talk with future students about how rewarding it is to start a business that truly matters to them and their community. I feel this book can be that inspiration to my students and spark them to act and make a difference.

This project is very important because it could inspire one of my students to start their own socially responsible business that could leave a lasting positive impression on the world now and for many years to come.
