My students need Arduino robot kits and two 3D printers so they can build and design their own robots. My students love these kinds of learning experiences. This project combines physics, robotics, electronics, programming, and 3D printing into one awesome STEAM project.
Right now, I combine programming, electricity, and circuits with a project using Arduino circuit boards, breadboards, LEDs, resistors, and sensors.
The kids get a lot of 21st century skills with this project, but I want to launch this project into the future by extending it with robotics and 3D printing.
My Project
We will use the very minimal car chassis and motors to build a simple car or robot on wheels that moves around, senses and avoids obstacles, and lights up and beeps. We will then design extensions that we will print with the 3D printers and attach to the chassis.
Three-D printing, robotics, programming, circuit boards, and creativity require skills that every student needs to know something about to prepare for the future.
In my physics classes, I always try to bring my kids into the future with technology and skills they get nowhere else in school. Please help to fund this project, and watch what amazing things my students can create.
