My Students

After an engaging year of science instruction, with hands-on-learning, students will have an awareness of the application of math and science to gardening, as well as an awareness of the necessity to be good stewards of the planet.

I have an amazing group of creative, dedicated, and talented students who look forward to science each day.

My science classes consist of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, who are predominately on free or reduced lunch. I am so proud of their hard work and continued dedication.

My Project

The students will learn how their present curriculum of math, science, language arts, and social studies are all part of a successful school garden. The hose and planting boxes will replace severely damaged materials that are currently being used for our school garden.

This project will improve the classroom by providing students with real life experiences of planting from seed to harvest.

These gardening experiences will provide learning opportunities in a wide array of disciplines including natural and social sciences, math, language arts, visual arts, and nutrition.
