Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember a time that you wanted an item for your birthday or Christmas gift and you did all your schoolwork and studied hard to pass a test to ensure you got it? To add extra motivation for my students to study hard, I intend to present the IPOD as a prize that could be won by doing the same.

My students are a joy to have and willing to work hard.

But they come from financially and educational disadvantaged backgrounds. 99% qualify for Federal free and reduced lunch program. They generally come from homes in which maximum academic attainment is high school attendance. Parents are supportive but are not usually able to do so financially. I hope to prepare them to be the first to attend college.

My Project

Do you remember a time you wanted something so much that you were willing to work hard at school to achieve high grades or even eat your greens to ensure you got it? This item serves as an incentive that if students work hard jump performance band they would receive raffle tickets based on how many bands they were able to jump. The IPOD will serve as the grand prize. It will also enable them to see that performing well academically can yield untold long term rewards.

This project will enable students who have not been motivated or willing to put in their best work to do so.

Knowing that they could win an IPOD would motivate students to try harder.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
