My students need 7 countdown timers to track their fluency time while reading non-fiction passages.

My Students

Reading can be a difficult subject to monitor and improve in. Over the years studies have shown students who have good fluency skills are better readers. The timers requested will help our students time themselves and monitor their fluency while reading.

We have an awesome group of student who are hard working and excited about school and learning.

They enjoy technology and are learning how to apply it into their daily lives. Our school qualifies for Title 1 funds, which means many students come from low income families.

My Project

Every Monday morning, students will get a folder and time themselves with these timers to see how long it takes to finish a passage. Each passage will be reread over and over until the student can reach a per-determined fluency for that passage. The timers are fun for the students to use and a lot of joy is found as they track themselves and can see improvement over time.

Reading is a vital tool necessary for students to succeed in the future.

These timers will help students improve their reading skills and help them to be more successful in their life endeavors.
