Flexible Seating: Allowing Students to Maximize Learning Potential
My students need a variety of seating options such as a bean bag chair, molded chairs, and stack stools with padded seats to maximize their learning potential.
Kiser is considered a Title 1 school, which means more than 50% of our school's population receives free or reduced priced lunch. Students within my classroom come from a variety of backgrounds, home and learning style.
All students within my classroom have a different learning style and deserve the most engaging learning experience that I can provide.
I will teach two blocks of students, each block containing around 25 students. Providing them with options that allow them to learn in a way that is comfortable to them will help all students grow academically.
My Project
Students need to have choices as to where they sit each day while learning in the classroom. Not all students love sitting at a desk all day. These items will allow students to make responsible decisions in their learning.
The option of bean bag chairs, bungee chairs, scoop chairs, or the carpet will allow students to make a choice in how they feel they learn best.
This will also allow students to grow academically in math and science. The chairs and small tables will allow students to work independently or work great in partner or small group activities. Students are more engaged when they are comfortable and have a choice in where they sit.
