My students need physical education equipment including dodgeball sets, fleece balls, speed stacks cups, and jump ropes to get them moving. They can play games that will help get them active and encourage team building and good sportsmanship.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
When I was in elementary school we went home and played until the street lights came on. We were a lot more physically active than this generation. Most kids are indoors after school, plugged into some electronics. Kids need to be more active, which actually improves their learning.
Many of my students come from low-income households.
They are great kids, but need all the extras that they can get. I want to have them boost their learning through exercise while also improving their health and giving them a love of exercise and team building through physical fitness games/skills.
My Project
With these requested items, my students will have equipment to play many games and get the daily exercise that is so needed. They will learn to work together in teams, boost their confidence, and hopefully get a love of exercise and improve their health.
Childhood obesity is a huge epidemic in the US.
It is recommended that kids get 60 minutes of daily physical activity, which doesn't happen for most. There are numerous studies showing how physical activity can stimulate brain growth and boost cognitive performance.
