My Students

We live in a world where children spend hours playing video games, watching TV and sitting at the computer. It's so important to keep our students active!

I teach a fabulous class of 19 third graders.

They love to learn, but they are a very active group of children! Our school is a public school in North Carolina. We only have a part time physical education teacher, so we don't always have access to the recess equipment we need.

My Project

My students need recess equipment, such as balls, bean bags and jump ropes, to use for learning activities and during free play. I would love to give my students more learning opportunities where they can be active! I want to use this active play equipment to add more games and active fun to our everyday learning in math, reading, social studies and science. For example, we could use this equipment for relays to review vocabulary or pass a ball and quiz each other on math facts. Plus, the students can use these items to just have fun during free play!
