Have you ever made someones day by sending a card or video? Have you ever handed out kind notes or kind pencils to the WHOLE SCHOOL? Yes, we have! Our 4th grade class spreads kindness one act, one person, one high-five, one smile at a time.
We are a small school located in the ocean side town of Narragansett. Our 4th grade classroom is integrated which includes students with and without special needs. It is a co-taught classroom, so we have the luxury of being taught by two most awesome teachers! But most importantly, we laugh, we learn, we are engaged, and we HAVE FUN!
My Project
The students in our classroom take pride in their work and enjoy showcasing their work. For some, it involves support and perseverance in order to complete a task. Students with special needs benefit from a variety of supports and resources, one being visual supports. A classroom easel, in which students and teachers can present, highlight, model, work through, and share information is highly beneficial in the classroom.
As the classroom teacher, our focus is creating high quality, hands-on, interactive, research based educational experiences for students. Having a leveled non-fiction book set will help us facilitate and encourage learning by conducting research projects, gathering and collecting factual information, and reading for enjoyment. A leveled set will be beneficial for students at various reading levels as well as lend itself to group and partner work, shared reflection, and deeper insight into topics of interest.
