Remember your time in instrumental music class? Perhaps there was a particularly memorable concert experience you looked fondly upon. My students are currently creating these memories, one quarter note at a time.
My students are committed to their musical education.
They are diverse and many speak languages other than English at home. Despite many students being unable to afford their own instruments, our school is able to provide school rentals, some for free. We believe that no student's financial situation should prevent them from learning to play an instrument.
My Project
The euphonium, sometimes called a baritone, is essential for the growth of our band program. Three students share one euphonium at our school, which limits the number of students we can have on this important instrument. Not having enough euphoniums is like missing part of the foundation on your house. The low sounds a euphonium creates are the foundation of our sound. Having a new euphonium will allow fewer students to share an instrument and inspire more home practice.
Additionally, the conductor stand that I currently have is very old and constantly drops all of my music on the floor. We will save much time in class avoiding this frequent accident by having a newer conductor stand.
Our students are very grateful for everything that the DonorsChoose.org community has provided them!
Having a brand new instrument will make everyone feel proud to be supported by the public's generosity. Having more euphonium students will make the whole group sound better.
