Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember being excited for the first day of school? The excitement of having new school supplies to bring? I am requesting school supplies so that my students can start the new year off right with the materials necessary for a successful school year.

I teach in an advanced work class in the Boston Public Schools.

My students bring a love of learning to class with them every day. They love discussing books, learning new math concepts and sharing their ideas; however our learning is often dampened by the limited supplies in our building. I would love for each student to start the year with the necessary supplies to fuel their enthusiasm for learning.

My Project

My students would love a binder with dividers to hold all their work for the school year. A two-inch binder would allow students to hold all their notes and assignments together in an organized manner. I would like pencils and a sharpener for students to use throughout the year, as well as markers for students to be able to display their artistic talents and learning using other means. With the proper supplies, students will be able to start the school year off on the right foot and have a successful year.

This project is important, because all students should have a chance to get the necessary supplies to be successful in school.

My students would be thrilled to have their own supplies next year and be more engaged in their lessons.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
