My Students

My students need an environmental science station to review and reinforce content and skills presented. Our space is limited.

I serve special needs students who are extremely bright.

They attend a school that is located in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky. They come to school eager to learn and full of excitement about what the day will bring. My students love hands-on activities that reinforce specific skills.

My Project

I'm requesting an inspiration station that will allow for storage of their environmental science materials and provide a space for teaching science content. My students currently have their science materials in lockers that hinder their use. I want my students to have these materials at their fingertips, allowing them to manipulate and interact with their materials. The bins in the station will be a great place for the materials. Also, the station will provide a means to present shared readings specific to environmental science concepts, to include plants and animals, habitats, basic needs, etc. Charts can be added for open discussions and readings. Then, hands-on materials can be provided to reinforce the content. I'm also requesting laminating pouches that will allow students to preserve and create a wall display for the hallway.
