Elementary Students in Need of Software/Hardware for Video

My students need a video editing program to begin creating video edits to use for in class video editing that will be incorporated during class computer time.

My Students

Trying to teach students new technology such as video editing is difficult when you do not have the technology available for them to use. With a video editing program students will be able to use the skills that they have learned from a recent visiting artist to further develop their skills.

My students LOVE technology and are very interested in working with computers.

Many do not have access to new technology at their homes. These students are hard workers when they are motivated and enjoy the task at hand. My students in elementary have computer/technology time once a week. During this time students learn the skills of typing, general computer tasks, and use web based learning to review content that is currently being taught in class.

My Project

Students will be able to use the resource of a video editing program to edit video throughout the school year. This will serve as a review of content that they are covering in class as well as help them further develop their technology skills by learning how to edit video using the computer program Adobe Premiere Pro 5.5 to edit their video.

This project will allow students to work together in groups to edit the video that was recorded in groups.

This will also allow me to run more project based learning activities where students have budgeted their time and resources to complete the task at hand.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
