Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Some people like Macy's, and some prefer Gimbels. With that in mind, some people learn verbally, and some learn visually. Visual help needed!

My students are hard-working, computer-loving Southern California kids.

Even the ones with the tough exteriors embrace technology, and whether they know it or not, they embrace the learning that goes along with it. They come to class excited to work, and in my class experience technology that they might not get to see at home.

My Project

With this new high-definition television, my student's can visually present their completed graphic arts type computer projects to the class. All we have to do is plug a computer directly into it. This is important, because being able to deliver a presentation in front of a group is a vital skill my student's will need later in life, and this television will be a great tool to use to practice this skill. I can also use it to demonstrate computer projects to the students, by plugging my teaching laptop computer directly into this HDTV.

Mathematics super-teacher, the late Jaime Escalante (who taught not too far from here) said it best: “We are all concerned about the future of American education.

But as I tell my students, you do not enter the future -- you create the future. The future is created through hard work.”
