My students need books on the Constitution, and Declaration to do an activity about US government and the Constitution. Markers and poster board will be used with this.
We study US history in 8th grade, and what better to understand how our country is governed, than by an activity that explores the Constitution.
We are in a high poverty, program improvement district in Northern California.
My students are bright and eager to learn, but often don't have all the materials that they need. In order for all to have an equal opportunity to learn, some have to work harder than others, and many of them do! Exploring democracy and the US Constitution is a good way to help our students understand our country, and help them to become more informed citizens.
My Project
In 8th grade, we study US history. In order to understand our system of government, and the country, we need to study the US
Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights. We will jigsaw the books, so students become experts in one area, and then they will share their expertise with a small group of students and the class. They will then use the markers and poster board to create a poster of the US Constitution in modern form.
Donations to this project will enable my students to understand the government, and the country they live in.
It will provide for academic expertise and discussion in areas that they have not gone to before. My students will become more enlightened citizens.
