My Students

Welcome to our Art Class where technology, creativity, and learning intertwine! My students thrive on content that is relevant to their lives and the world outside the classroom walls.

My Kindergarten through Fifth grade art students are innovative problem solvers.

Integrating technology into the art room provides a meaningful experience that sparks interest and engages students. With this diverse population of students, acceptance of differences and self reflection are extremely important skills students need to be successful.

My Project

The materials I have requested will serve as a means for students to monitor and assess individual growth and development. My 3rd through 5th grade students, using the iPod Touches, will learn to create an online art portfolio, how to add and edit photos of artwork, and reflect on growth throughout lessons, units, and even years! The iPad mini will be used in K-2 classes and Exceptional Children(EC) classes, as the larger screen provides appropriate modifications for these students. With teacher-guided instruction, students will learn how to take and upload photos onto his/her online portfolio. Students will also complete online assessments on the iPods and iPad mini providing valuable data to guide instruction.

This project will provide our art classes with student, teacher, and family communications.

Families will have access to students online portfolios to view work and provide positive feedback. Students will view artwork created by students around the world. Students will also be using 21st Century skills including information and technology skills, creativity and innovation skills, communication and collaboration skills, and critical thinking and problem solving skills.
