Our 5th grade classroom is an exciting place to learn! I teach Language Arts and Social Studies to about 50 fifth graders each day. My students are eager to please and often want to expand upon what they are being taught by asking questions, creating projects, or having class discussions.
My students have diverse backgrounds, with many being from low income families and broken homes.
These students are still required to meet the same standards and work hard each day while they are in my classroom. However, as they go home, some may not have access to the technology and resources that others have. It is important that we use these resources in the classroom and throughout our learning so that all are being given equal opportunities to advance their learning through technology.
My Project
With a class iPad, my students can take their questioning and our class discussions to the next level as they research and create class projects. Students can enhance their love for learning as we work together in developing projects and applying knowledge to real world situations. While our district is very supportive of technology being implemented within the classroom, funds are limited when it comes to having devices for each individual student or a single classroom.
Having a class iPad with a cover will allow all students equal access to and opportunities with technology.
These opportunities will prepare students for real world situations and for the technology-centered world in which we live today.
