My kiddos are the most inquisitive, hands-on, and knowledge thirsty kids I have ever taught.

It seems that with every "why" or "I don't understand" someone always says, "Can you look it up and show us on the Smart Board?", followed by a few minutes of class discussion. My school is in a rural part of Arizona, where unfortunately our voters don't care about education and educational resources like they should. Luckily I have always been blessed with parents who want more their children and who help me supply my classroom with the basics I need.

My Project

During Daily 5 time, there is always a huge rush to be the first ones called in order to secure one of three computers. They love Star Fall, PBS Kids and ABC Mouse. There is no guarantee each week that computer time will be had outside the 45 minutes a week in the computer lab. I want to introduce technology in our daily math centers to give my kids another hands on way to practice a concept we have already learned.

It is my hope to build a collaborative classroom where my students can become a teacher to their peers, using technology as a tool to guide them.

I want all of my students to be successful and confident that they can learn from their peers. My students will be more effective learners when they have multiple avenues to travel in their quest for knowledge.
