Our Pre K-5th grade school is one of the elementary schools in our area.
We have almost 550 students here. I am a 2nd grade teacher who has taught other grade levels in the past before settling in 2nd grade. Our teachers and staff engage our students in powerful ways and our students do enjoy the learning environment. The children truly embrace technology at our school. My students work daily with different technology tools. They have embraced computers, Ipads, the Promethean Board and Activotes. We could use another item with your help. With an ActivSlate, we'd have another crucial item for our classroom.
My Project
As a class that works with Promethean Board activities daily, let me say, "we are definitely crossing our fingers for a new Activslate." I'm a teacher who has an avid interest in classroom technology & I have seen changes in how our schools manage technology centers in reading & math. Without a doubt, anyone can say with confidence that children are now tech-savvy by the time they enter school. If you are wondering, what is it? The website states," ActivSlate makes dynamic, interactive classroom experiences everyday occurrences by giving anyone who wishes to participate control of the ActivBoard from anywhere in the ActivClassroom. A wireless, fully integrated, notebook-sized tablet, ActivSlate uses the same ActivPens as the ActivBoard, is small enough to sit on a student desk, and is light enough to be carried into any discussion." I have plans to use it with academic subjects and with art activities. It would help me with creative lessons by Empowering Students Through Art, as well.
