I love science! I want to make students love science, too! I have always learned best by doing. Some of the greatest science teachers I had growing up made students actively participate in their own learning. I want to inspire my students, just as much as I was inspired when I was a student.
My students are amazing!
They are an extremely diverse group of individuals ranging from 12-15 years old. They challenge me with with interesting questions and inspire me to become a better teacher everyday.
Our school ranges from grades K-8. It provides students with the opportunity to grow up in an enriching learning community before they leave for high school to continue their journey. We have an incredible faculty devoted to their students. One of the unique characteristics about our school is the emphasis on art and music, which is not always a focal point of city schools.
Our science department is dedicated to creating an environment of inquiry and experimentation for all students. We want our students to move on to high school as scientifically literate young men and women, ready to accomplish anything set before them.
My Project
With the resources I have requested, students will be able to expand on their laboratory work by creating posters, diagrams, and presentations while collaborating in the science classroom. We are always looking for ways to be more creative and with these supplies, we can do just that!
Students will learn how to design and create visual aids for their experiments and other projects using many of the materials requested. Markers, crayons, rulers, glue, and tape would go a long way this school year and in future years for the students in our school.
Test tubes will help support our experiments in different units and can be reused each school year. They will provide an authentic science environment and make my students feel like professional scientific researchers.
Donations will have a huge impact on my classroom.
Students will be able to explore their creativity with less restrictions while using quality resources. It will let them know that people care about them enough to provide them with tools to improve their learning experience and support their education. My students are a wonderful group of young minds who would be grateful for any contribution you could make. Thank you very much!
