This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is 95-98% free/reduced lunch and consists of mostly minority students. They come to school with little background knowledge because they haven't been in a formal daycare or preschool program. Students also come with limited resources available to them because of lack of financial capabilities. They have little to no experience with planning, building, and testing ideas which is why we have started a STEAM Lab. In our ever-changing, fast-paced world, our students need to develop engineering, coding, and technological skills at an early age.
My Project
We are so excited to finally have a STEAM Lab and Maker Space available at our school! My students will use these clover-shaped tables to work in small groups when completing science and engineering challenges.
The shape of the tables will allow for better collaboration and teamwork!
The students will be able to stand or sit around the tables that are their height and build, create, and problem solve with their peers.
Because this is the first year we have a STEAM Lab in our school, we are anxious to get everything we need to make it a huge success.
