My students need a set of stools for our new horseshoe table so we have a dedicated place to go to for conferencing.

My Students

We are a class of 28 fourth and fifth graders. I put a high priority on providing the best possible education I can to each and everyone of them. We emphasize the building of community so that we work well as a functioning classroom for all.

Located near a university, our classroom has students from all over the world who are the children of those who've come to the United States seeking graduate degrees.

We provide an American experience for these students and many of them are English language learners. Add to the mix students from the neighborhood and we are a melting pot of the world. While getting along is very normal for us, it is profoundly moving to see it in action. Our students bring 44 different languages to our building. We have students from pre Kindergarten to Fifth grade. Our administrator is an immigrant to the U.S. and provides strong, thoughtful, and effective leadership. I am fortunate to work with colleagues who support each other as they work the mission of providing high quality instruction for all our students. I am in awe of them, and blessed to be a part of this team.

My Project

We are requesting stools to sidle up to our new horseshoe shaped table that our district recently provided. The table was raised upon installation by our custodian to a 36" height (counter-height) to aid grabbing instructional materials at any given moment. This is helpful to me and my supporting teachers, but we now need stools that will raise students to this height while we conference over writing, reading, & math fact interviews.

These sturdy, stable (heavy, not easily moved) stools will give us a dedicated place to do these all important conferences, as well as establish the "horseshoe table" as the place where we do important work.
