This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Remember when you didn't have the tools you needed? I have been finding that having something to take away makes the class more tangible to the student. As a teacher -- having a way to collect student work so that I can post it also makes the class projects more tangible.

We are located in a very large urban school district.

We are over 60% free and reduced-price lunch and speak over 40 different home languages. I am desperately trying to attract females to my computer science and technology courses. I am hoping by making my classroom more attractive, I will attract more students. Many of my students are on the wrong side of the digital divide, and I am trying to change that for them.

My Project

We need more storage. While the district provides some, we don't have a repository to keep our large projects. I also want to be able to store some of our projects permanently so that I can keep a copy. I also want our students to be able to take work home, thus the need for DVDs.

I am trying to attract more students to my classes, and I am having a tough time doing so.

I am hoping by making the class more attractive, I will attract more students, especially females and minorities.
