The price of computers run around $950. The learning stemmed from it? Priceless! As a teacher, I see how technology sets a great tone in the classroom. Whether connected to a projector or used in centers, I know we would benefit from one. If measured, the outcome of its use is truly priceless!
At this time, I am teaching 1st grade after spending many years as a 4th grade team teacher.
At this time, like my students, I am learning as I go. As you may imagine, my 6 and 7 year old students are a constant bundle of energy and always who love using technology tools. Our school is one in the district who strives for technology resources in our classroom. Each year, we have school tech campaigns to try and help ourselves gain more technology for our students.
My Project
Technology in the classroom is now is a must. As educators, I believe we should be able to offer more technology rich lessons to all students daily. With a new "all in one computer", I know I could do just that. With the use of a new computer, I know my students could work in an independent computer center to assist them with all subjects. My main focus, however, would be with reading and math. I know I could use many available websites to readily find powerful reading and math sites to facilitate learning, as well as to help lessen gaps in specific subject areas. My agenda would also include combining technology resources for our students to be productive. With a variety of great sites, I could combine my interactive whiteboard, projector and new computer to offer productive whole class experiences, as well.
