My Students

My school library is bustling from 7 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon. It is filled with students wanting to read books, talk about books, read books online, write stories, research, learn how to code, practice math skills, and learn to type!

My students range in age from 5 to 12, from kindergarten to sixth grade.

They are bright, curious, they love learning, and they love reading. The majority of them speak more than one language. A large percentage of them are new to our country and our culture. One of our school's great strengths is our diversity.

My Project

Every day, I teach lessons related to literacy and technology. Kindergartners through sixth graders learn how to read books online. First and second graders also use the computers to practice math and decoding skills. Third and fourth graders learn how to type, word process, and navigate the web. Fifth and sixth graders do all of the above in addition to learning how to code.

Donations to this project will help hundreds of students have access to current technology.

The computers we currently have in the school library are aging and quite slow. The computers we have are older than many of our students. Having new computers will help us to learn technology skills faster without getting frustrated at the technology itself. Donations to this project will help hundreds of students on a daily basis for years to come!
