Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Children are exposed to computers at an early age these days, but they need hands-on experience to access their possibilities. We have two computers in our classroom for student use, but not a printer. And LAUSD cannot provide the money to buy one.

I teach a wonderful second grade class in a Title 1 school with few monetary resources.

I am more than lucky to have students who love to read, talk about the world, and work together toward common goals. By supporting our class with a color printer, you would help my students become empowered to research, write, and produce projects they can proudly display, present, and take home.

My Project

As a teacher I want my students to be able to research and visually express what they have learned. A printer to call their own will allow students to research topics and write about them on a computer, then print and share with classmates and parents. Without a printer, that cannot happen.

Having a printer will allow my students to take more responsibility for their own learning.

The experiences and skills acquired will help prepare them for the rest of elementary school and beyond.
