As much as we'd like to click our "red heels" for magic like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, as adults, we're told that no such power exists. However, despite reality, I want to believe a little magic and generous hearts truly do exist. So I am clicking my heels with closed eyes and wishing for a laptop!
Building a 21st-century classroom is ideal, but somewhat difficult with a lack of technology money readily available.
Quite obviously, we live in a technological world. The problem, however, lies with school systems not always being able to fund equipment. I am proud to say that that our school works hard annually to gain resources. Though not always successful, as a school, we know in our hearts we are trying to set up model technology classrooms for our little ones. I am interested in a new laptop for my awesome, hard working 1st graders. I come to school each morning greeted by their smiling faces and I love that. As an educator, I work hard to embed seamless technology lessons into my classroom daily. For me, it is a must. I currently teach all subjects in 1st grade students! They are eager to learn and work in centers every day. As a teacher, I love "Empowering Students Through Art." This laptop would help my creative students with academics, as well as art activities.
My Project
As a dedicated teacher, I have tried hard to provide technology-rich lessons with my students. I truly believe this statement Bill Gates has shared…"Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important." With that said, please know that I am a teacher who loves using technology in my classroom. However for obvious reasons, purchasing technology is not always in the budget of school systems. I have had some computers crash on me in the past years. Some could not be replaced. So the purchase of a new computer would be beneficial to us. With this new computer, my students could engage in richer technology ELA-based lessons. It would also help with RTI (Response to Intervention), Intervention, as well as other subjects. The internet offers so many free activities for our students. I know having a new computer would help them continue to engage in meaningful lessons to help them reach their potential in my classroom!
With a technology goal on the horizon and hope of new equipment, I plan to continue moving forward for my students to have an effective 21st-century classroom.
Obviously, computers in the classroom are critical in today's world. I can move forward if you help me with this quest of mine! Your consideration and help would be forever appreciated.
