Why is there still salt and sand on our floor? Why hasn't the spit stain from my instrument been mopped on the floor? Why hasn't the floor been swept or mopped? These are questions I hear on a daily basis and wish I had an answer or solution...but, with your help, I can fix the problem.
My students are bright and charming students ranging from advanced placement curriculum students to students with learning disabilities.
Since music is a team activity, they must work together as one regardless of backgrounds or grade level in order to succeed. They are a diverse group of city kids. They come from Haiti, the Dominican Republic, China, Puerto Rico, and Vietnam. They are all funny, sweet, generous, and engaging.
My Project
We play instruments in our room and with that comes numerous students entering and exiting and the dreaded emptying of spit valves. Our room is rarely swept and mopped, and the salt and sand (thank you New England Winter), mud, and spit from instruments is beginning to take a toll on our floor. It definitely isn't sanitary and makes it difficult for children with asthma to breathe.
The two vacuums will allow me and the students to rid the floor of dirt, salt, and sand. The two swift jets mops, four boxes of cleaning pads, and three boxes cleaning solution will make our floor germ and spit free.
Our school is divided into two buildings, which means double the dirt because the rooms are used all day. This also means double the supplies.
Let's make a clean environment for our students and help our floor sparkle and shine like my students!
My students are learning to play instruments and love performing for others.
We want students and parents to be proud of the accomplishments they are making. The first step is helping them make beautiful music. The second step is having a beautiful, clean classroom to learn. Thank you for helping us fund this clean project!
