My students need a library that is well organized; I would need storage bins to organize my library. The labels for the bins would help students find the books easily.
I teach fourth grade and my students love to learn. We learn a great deal using technology. We skype with authors and write on our classroom blog. At the end of the school year I would like my students to be confident, well rounded and good human beings.
My students have a thirst for knowledge.
They love to integrate technology with their learning. My school is very diverse and we have a great character building curriculum that we all follow. All the teachers at my school are very dedicated to their job and they teach with passion and compassion.
My students are from many different ethnicity. This has taught them to be very open to different cultures. Every year in fourth grade we celebrate the ethnic food festival, where students research their country of their ancestors and write a report on it. Parents bring in food from their ethnicity and we celebrate it.
I am proud to be working in a school where teachers and students work together to make this town a better place.
My Project
I have requested storage bins for my classroom library. Right now I have so many books in very flimsy bins and the bins keep breaking. If I get the strong storage bins I would be able to keep the books organized especially with the labels. Students would be able to find the books they are looking for easily. After organizing the books I would be also organizing them digitally using the app classroom organizer. The organized teacher bins will help me plan for the week.
The file folders would be to help me organize all their writing that they do, and when tests are brought back signed from parents they are put in a file with their name on it. The binders are for the different lessons (reading, writing, math..) and to keep them all organized in one place. Basically I am looking to become a very organized teacher starting next year!
This year I feel my classroom is not very well organized.
Once I have all the supplies I need to organize the room I can pay more attention on teaching rather than worrying about the classroom. The biggest help would be to have a nice functioning library. I have a great deal of books and right now they are in all different shape and size bins. If I can get the bins I can color code the book bins by reading levels and genre.
