My Students

My students need seat sacks for their desk chairs. Eight is a very young age to be transitioning to three different teachers every single day. These students need help with their organization so they can spend less time figuring out where their things are/getting settled and instead on learning!

My students are excited learners.

They are a very diverse group of kids, mostly coming from families living below the poverty line. They love our school- an inner city charter school in a low-performing district. Their passion for writing and science is incredible!

My Project

Eight is a very young age to be transitioning to three different teachers every single day. My students need a faster system to get unpacked with their books out when they come into the classroom so that no time is wasted. Their daily language and science books are on a bookshelf. There is not enough room for all three students who use each desk to keep their books in the desk, so this is the only option right now. With seat sacks, however, they could all leave their books at their desks and transition time would be cut down significantly. They could walk into the classroom, sit down, and be ready to start learning. Nobody would have to pass out books and class would start immediately. My students will get through more material and never misplace their books again!

This is so important to me and my students because transitions between classrooms are not even built into our schedules.

We are already short on time and spending the first five minutes to pass out books is taking away crucial minutes that could be spent learning. These seat sacks will help maximize their time spent learning in school. Your donation will give my students more knowledge and a better system for starting class every day. Thank you in advance!
