My Students

"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" - Wayne Gretzky Much time is spent in my classroom encouraging the students to get outside their comfort zone and take risks. By having technology in the classroom, a whole new world of information and experiences will be available to my students.

We are a 6th classroom in a suburb of Chicago, between Chicago and Milwaukee.

Our school is one of moderate poverty, with about 30% on free or reduced lunch. The students love to be actively involved in the learning process. They enjoy hands-on learning experiences, including use of technology.

My Project

I am requesting 5 Chromebooks for use in my class. They will be used to enhance student learning for Math and Social Studies. I like to design interesting stations for Math and would like to have a technology station available for their use on a daily basis. Currently, I have NO computers in my classroom, my only piece of technology is a projector. In Social Studies, the Chromebooks will be used often for research and online activities.

These Chromebooks will allow me to create independent learning opportunities for the students in my Math and Social Studies classes as well as give computer access to those students who do not have it at home.
