My Students

Do you remember believing that your voice could change the world? My students believe that they can do just that. By sharing their work on a classroom blog, they will be able to experience new things.

Union Hill is a highly impacted school.

Most of the students will never get to travel outside of the state let alone experience the diverse cultures of the world. The students at Union Hill are sweet and loving. They are incredibly intelligent and their views are worth hearing.

My Project

I plan to use a digital camera in my classroom to have my students organize and maintain a classroom blog. Through this they will have the opportunity to share their work samples, viewpoints on current topics, and advice with other fifth graders. It is my hope that the blog will become an interactive writing station and branch into a pen pal program with other classes around the country. The camera will also aid in interactive Science and Math stations that are implemented in the classroom. I believe that using a digital camera to maintain a classroom blog with give my students a great experience with writing and allow them to take ownership of their learning experience.

To have my students share their thoughts and ideas through a blog will be an opportunity they have not experienced yet.

By allowing them to take ownership of their learning and writing will give them the chance experience the joys of education. I believe that for the majority of my students, who are below grade level, this will be an exciting experience and allow them to excel in other areas of their life.
