My Students

Most of my students do not have access to a computer or Internet at home. Having a classroom Chromebook would provide access to them daily, allowing them to be technologically savvy in our ever changing technological world.

My students love to learn, but many of them come from low income families which can inhibit their potential.

I push my students every day to help them strive to break the cycle of poverty and achieve greatness. With very diverse learners and many English as a Second Language students technology is what keeps them engaged and motivated.

My Project

Having access to a Chromebook in my classroom will enhance my third grade students lives for the better. During a typical math period you may see students using the Chromebook to practice their math facts on an online website called Xtra Math, playing Planet Turtle which is a MN standards based program or using Google apps. to collect, share, analyze, and graph data. During my literacy period, students would use the Chromebook to publish stories they have written, use Google apps to share information with other classmates, use the Chromebook as a listening center, record literature circle work, and even have the possibility of having a global pen pal through Google apps.

My students need to be educated on how to safely navigate the Internet and with a Chromebook in my classroom they would be able to practice safety everyday while being engaged and motivated in their learning.
