Cheering is something that has been a part of my life. I have actually used it in my classroom to help excite the children. Osmos are great devices used with ipads. I am certain my Kindergarten students and I would "cheer" to have an Osmo device and keyboard for the Ipad! Please help us if you can.
Teaching is something I love.
As a teacher whose Kindergarten students use effective technology lessons daily, it is obvious that tablets are truly starting to hit their stride in classrooms. An Osmo and ipad keyboard could help my students. With the use of a tablet and Osmos my students could work in an Ipad center to strengthen skills and be creative. In my opinion, growth should always be a priority and it is something I strive for. Technology has helped our teachers achieve that goal in many ways.
Our plan with the Osmos would be to utilize that to help lessen learning gaps with my students. Our local school has about 544 students. Our teachers and students are active in utilizing technology in our classrooms daily. Our new goal is to get Osmo device and iPad keyboard to use with our new iPads. I already have an ipad from Donorschoose.org, but could use the 2 other items. Both would help me with this professional development and later, with the students.
My Project
As a Kindergarten teacher, I want to learn about Osmo for creative and collaborative lessons. My plan of action for Professional Development includes working with my tech leader in a small group setting. The lesson plan for my personal learning journey includes meeting for 3 sessions to understand this new tool. In speaking with our tech leader, she recommended tutorials that would guide my learning path. With the use of the requested Osmo and ipad keyboard, my mentor will guide me with my personal learning path. Our plan for this lies with striving for 2 goals: Learning to use an Osmo and ipad keyboard with me as the student and then implementing it for creative and collaborative lessons with my students. The Osmo in this proposal would be used for our team to learn about them during professional development. They would be used in centers with collaborative group settings, in pairs or individually.
There so many positive uses to technology in the classroom.
The objective is to find what works in terms of honing in on creative & collaborative skills. Osmo could help with those lessons. With this plan of action, I know I will learn fabulous ways to implement Osmos in my classroom. Believe me, I'm ready to take walk on this journey with your funding.
