Can you see it clearly? As a teacher whose second grade students use technology, I have no doubt that a class document camera would benefit our classroom. Whether it be for whole class science experiments or every day lessons that need to be projected, it would be beneficial to my 2nd graders.
I am currently a 2nd grade teacher and have been for many years.
I also taught Special Ed during my 1st years at this particular school. I teach at a Pre K-5th grade school in which parental support is a huge factor. Our school has more than 500 students at this time. My students are eager to learn and I truly enjoy having each one in my classroom!
My Project
One quest for me this year is to acquire a document camera for my classroom. It would allow us to share many whole class activities when needed. As an educator, I know the importance having students experience lessons, that would also allow for in-depth classroom discussions in the process. I have no doubt, that the use of a document camera, would enhance engaging reading, math, science and social studies lessons.
Through this device, I could demonstrate lessons would reach all students. A great example would be science experiments. At times, due to budget constraints, we can participate in only one class experiment. The document camera could be used to "project" the powerful experiment on the screen, where all students would have a clear and helpful view of the experiment. We could then engage in a powerful question and answer session to enhance the ongoing lesson displayed.
For obvious reasons, additional technology money is not readily available for classroom document cameras.
My students and I would be appreciative of your help in having our own classroom document camera. It would be used for productive lessons to bring the students to a higher level of academic achievement. Any help would be appreciated by my class. Please help my students see all lessons at hand "clearly" with the use of an awesome document camera!
