Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Hear one side and you will be in the dark. Hear both and all will be clear." Imagine having to use clunky 10 year old headphones for any activity on the computer. My students need to streamline their computer listening capabilities with earbuds.

My students are comprised of regular education and special education students consisting of specific learning disabilities, speech and language disabilities, cognitively disabled students, autistic and emotional behavioral disorders.

They come from low income, single parent homes, many of whom come from bi-cultural and bilingual families. Therefore, our public school provides free breakfast and lunch and even an evening meal for the students who stay after school. They are eager to learn but don't always have the access to the resources which makes learning more of a challenge for them.

My Project

Having a set of earbuds for every student would be a dream. There would be no clunky cords, no headphones with pieces falling off weekly because they are so old. My students would be able to listen stories, podcasts and music while they are on the computer and at the listening center without the hassle of tangled cords, broken volume controls, poor sound quality, exposed wires from years of usage as well as missing ear cushions. Without having to have 30 children share 6 headphones, these ear buds would eliminate many hygiene problems.

These earbuds would make a great difference in my students' learning when it comes to being on the computer.
