Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our class is comprised of 34 eager learners. They are a diverse group with different learning styles, abilities, and interests. In addition to my 34 homeroom students, I also teach 34 students Social Studies and 21 more reading. What's the one thing they all have in common? They love technology!
My students are innovative, energetic, and love to learn.
It is a pleasure seeing their smiling faces everyday, and it is so rewarding to see their eyes light up as they learn and understand new concepts.
They each have their own unique learning style and the use of technology in the classroom, with its wide range of integration and formats, has the potential to reach all of my students.
My Project
With a new wireless speakers in our classroom, students can view educational videos and participate in interactive presentations. I will be able to pull up videos like the "I Have a Dream" speech or Bill Nye the Science Guy videos to give my students a great preview to a lesson. Videos provide so much background knowledge and help connect my kids to cultures from all around the world. With new wireless speakers students can not only watch videos, but create their own presentations as well, such as their "Rules of Divisibility" Rap, or comic strip about a lonely Prime Number to play back to their classmates.
As we transition into Common Core and our world becomes more dependent on technology, students must become familiar and proficient with technology in their academic and professional lives. What better way to show all the uses of technology in the academic and professional world then by modeling how to use them?
Having new speakers in the classroom will give all students access to learning.
Students will be able to learn new material and content through various multi-media formats, along with learning through their own creations.
