My Students

My students are 5 year old kids who need their learning to include more hands on experiences and opportunities. I have found that students learn best when they are able to explore and create. Learning through new forms of technology is also a successful way to keep learners involved and engaged.

My class consists of 19 kindergarten students.

I have been given the students who have tested the lowest in our grade and who are behind in their learning. My students were picked to be a part of a full day session of school in hopes of boosting their academic skills. My students spend 6 1/2 hours in my classroom 5 days a week.

My Project

With the Magformer building materials my students will be able to create many different types of 3-D shapes. The students will learn through hands on exploring how to create shapes on their own using different combinations. With a document camera my students will be able to view small books, poems, and charts on a larger scale. A document camera will allow me to walk students through the learning process in a whole group setting, giving the my class more learning support.

The materials that I am requesting would help boost student learning in the three major learning areas (literacy, math, and science).

Students would be able to learn with the support of hands on learning and new forms of technology.
