Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is a second home to 25 bright and bubbly third graders. They absolutely love to learn and take such pride in their achievements. We attend school in a very low income district and approximately 80% of our school is on the free lunch program. Most of my students are ELL students and also
Our classroom needs your help in building our Writer's Notebooks.
Each and every day, my students cheer when it comes time for our Writing class. I have a very bright group of learners and they truly need binders, dividers, and paper to build our Writing Toolkits for next year. These binders will serve as a home to all our our brilliant writings and other tools and handouts that we will use daily.
My students truly love to learn. They come to school each day asking what they get to do next. Writing is a critical component in readying our students for higher education. Please help me continue their learning by providing us with the basic materials we need.
My Project
My students will use these binders throughout the year during writing instruction. They will serve as a home to all of our graphic organizers, writing ideas, instructional tools, and word lists. Students will take pride in their binders after designing the cover and organizing all of their materials into one neat and tidy space using their new write in dividers.
As a teacher, I will provide the basic tools that my students need. The paper will be used to provide students copies of useful writing and grammar rules, including word lists and other instructional resources that my students may need while they write. We will brainstorm, organize, and revise together during our Writer's Workshop and these toolkits will assist me in helping my students stay organized and take pride in their writings. Parents will be privy to all of the materials inside and students will enjoy sharing their writings with others.
As an elementary teacher, organization is a key factor in student success.
These binders will allow my students to take pride in their work and keep it organized for lessons and independent work sessions. My students are motivated and excited about writing and having a Writer's Toolkit will help them progress by leaps and bounds!
