Interactivity in classrooms is a must now. With powerful technology resources on the horizon, teachers can use them to seamlessly integrate productive lessons. I believe that with an ActivSlate and student camera, my students and I could prove how effective digital resources can enhance any lesson!
I am currently a 4th grade team teacher with close to two decades of experience.
At this time, I teach Science, Social Studies and Math at a Pre K- fifth grade school. We have a tight knit community and the parental support here is amazing. My school has more than 500 students from Pre K through fifth grade. We have tried very hard to move forward with technology since 2009 with various technology school campaigns. I believe technology integration is a must in classrooms to move forward and I am fortunate, our school leaders and community feels the same. As our school technology motto says, we keep our eye on technology at all times!
My Project
Our school has been fortunate enough to receive Promethean Boards for all of our classrooms in the past few years, however, we never had additional funding or grants for accessories. I would love for us to receive an ACTIVSLATE 60 tablet to seamlessly integrate lessons with ActivInspire on my Promethean Board. The ActivSlate would work in conjunction with my Promethean Board and could help enhance powerful deliveries of lessons in a truly interactive way. It would allow more freedom in movement carrying the interactive tablet to the students. The ActivSlate tablet would be used as a group and it would show up on the board for the entire class to view. In addition to that, a small student camera combined with other technology tools, would help me incorporate even more digital lessons with the students for Math, Science and Social studies.
As with most teachers nationwide, additional technology money is not available for the extra technology accessories and tools.
I am asking your help to bring an ActivSlate, a student camera and accessories to both sections of my 4th grade classroom. Your consideration would be appreciated.
